2 months agoThis is a great local business in Halifax located right next to Dalhousie. I ordered catering for a school event and everyone said the food was amazing. The owners are very accommodating and helpful, giving recommendations and options. There is food for every budget including wraps perfect for students. You don't wanna miss out on this delicious food!

3 months agoThis is my favourite restaurant in the world! The food is delicious and the place is family-run. The owners are very kind and welcoming. My favourite is the wrap with a Turkish coffee. Best place ever!

3 months agoI love Turkish food and this man makes delicious dishes. The bread is fresh, the rice buttery and the food arrives piping hot. We are semi-regulars. This is a small hidden gem in Halifax near Dalhousie and the Cohn. I can’t add any pictures because I inhaled my food.

4 months agoThe minute the food was served to us, we wondered where the sauces were because that is very usual with Turkish food, so we asked the staff, and they told us it doesn’t come with sauces. So we settled. BUT when we tasted the food, we finally understood why it doesn’t come with sauces: the food itself is already SOOOO GOOOD!! 😭 The lamb was so soft and tasty! The salad that comes with the meal deserves its own spotlight! First time dining here, and we will definitely be back, maybe this weekend hahaha +100000 because the staff was so, so kind to us! I even ordered Katafi to go and immediately regretted that it was only a single slice. Brb!

4 months agoVisited last evening for the first time. Reminded us so much of travel and dining at authentic restaurants in Greece, Portugal and Italy. The food is amazing from appetizer to entree and desert. The care and attention from the owner and chef in preparing and serving recipes centuries old is on display. Take time and stray away from the multitudes of downtown venues and visit Chef in The Kitchen, you won't be disappointed.

9 months agoPretty spot with beautiful food. Large selection of Turkish and middle eastern specialties. Espresso drinks and many kinds of herbal teas as well. Charming service from the chef/owner. Definitely a gem in the heart of Halifax.

a year agoAMAZING, best Turkish restaurant by far !! We love Turkish/Mediterranean food so we tried a few restaurants in HRM, and this place is definitely our new favorite! Me and my husband dined here after my Turkish friend highly recommended this place. The chef/owner was very nice and friendly, the food was superb, portion was huge. The price was so low for the quality and the portions, we were pleasantly surprised, ended up ordering bunch of single items to go as well. The place is cozy and small in a quiet neighborhood, but food. presentation, and service was phenomenal. Highly recommended 👌

a year agoVery friendly chef and staff, cozy and clean setting, such a home comfort food style but also very flavourful. Our first meal in Halifax! Such a great impression to Dalhousie Uni and the City just because of this little restaurant. Great portion as well!
